Prof. S.C. Santra is well renowned environmental scientist working in the field of  Bioremediation, Toxicological Aspects and Mangrove  Ecology.

He has published more than 162 research paper and 11 books. His book "Environmental Sciences" (New Central Book agency, Kolkatta, 2001) is widely used as text book throughout nation.

With 27 Ph.D.s under his supervision, he has the credit for carrying out more than 30 EIA projects
